On Black Fridays past, my husband and I have stood in line outside stores, in the cold and dark, just to get a great deal on the season's hottest electronic items or toys. You might choose to do the same this time around or you can even start shopping on Thanksgiving night, when many retailers will open their doors.

But you don't have to head outside if you don't want to.

I've found five Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals you can snag without leaving home or fighting the crowds. The featured categories are:

Diamond Earrings

Big savings on diamond jewelry is music to a frugalista's ears. So take note of the Cyber Monday sale at Bluenile.com. On Monday, Nov. 26, the online jewelry site will offer special deals on diamond stud earrings, with potential savings of more than $200. The price by size:

  • 1/4 carat: $268 (originally $375)
  • 1/3 carat: $365 (originally $510)
  • 1/2 carat: $568 (originally $795)

Be sure to enter BLACKFRIDAY in the promotion code at checkout to get the discount.

Custom-Made Men's Suits

As any man who has one will tell you, no suit fits quite as well as one that’s custom made. Mohan's Custom Tailors in New York City, known for its excellent work, has a sharp Black Friday deal — and you don't have to live in the area to benefit.

Call Mohan’s between now and Black Friday — (888) 691-4037 — with your measurements and fabric preferences and you'll qualify for a Buy One, Get One Free custom-made suit special. (Some customers mail an old suit to Mohan's so the tailor can get an example of your size and style.)

Mohan’s offers 14,000 fabric choices and 40 suit styles from England, Italy, Germany and Spain. Prices normally start at $500 and can run as much as $2,000. So the two-for-one deal can result in significant savings.

You may need to wait until 2013 for delivery, though; custom-made suits take two to four weeks to complete.

Pet Pampering

Here's a great Black Friday deal for that special member of the family. Petsmart is offering 50 percent off its pet services on Black Friday weekend, including a "pawdicure" (basically nail trimming and ear cleaning), which normally runs $19. No appointment is necessary.

Digital Nikon Camera

Plenty of retailers will push their Black Friday doorbuster deals on digital cameras, but here’s a bargain that won't require a pre-dawn wake-up call. OfficeMax will let you save $70 on the new Nikon CoolPix S6300 digital camera in its stores and on its website on Black Friday. That’ll knock down the price from $199.99 to $129.99.

You’ll also get two freebies: An 8GB SD memory card and a Lowepro camera case.

Though OfficeMax recently announced same day in-store pick up of online orders, this service won’t be available for the Nikon Black Friday deal.

A B&B Vacation

Bedandbreakfast.com, a booking website for thousands of B&Bs in the United States, has an enticing Black Friday deal. Starting Friday, Nov. 23, for every $100 Bedandbreakfast.com gift card you buy toward a future stay, the site will give you a free $30 Getaway Gift Card in return. Just use the code “BBCYBER30” at checkout.

The Getaway Gift Cards never expire or decrease in value. And there are no blackout dates. So you just might want to use one on Black Friday 2013, while the rest of the world goes nuts shopping.
