Four groups and one solo artist join the celebrated coterie of musicians

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, together with fans voting online, have selected five new Hall of Fame inductees. In alphabetical order, they are:

Artists are eligible for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame consideration 25 years after the release of their first record.

This year, the induction will happen at Barclays Center in New York City, on April 8, 2016.

The five inductees above join recent Hall of Famers including Joan Jett, Ringo Starr and Green Day.
