Since Next Avenue launched, we’ve been all for cross-generational mentoring at work. Now the idea, once rarely discussed, is driving a new Hollywood mainstream film starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway: The Intern.
And while there are predictable age gags in it, for instance, asking the 70-year-old intern where he’d like to be in 10 years, it seems the movie will take seriously the concept of learning from someone who’s not in your peer group.
