Grace Birnstengel

Grace Birnstengel was an editor, reporter and writer for Next Avenue from 2017-2021. Grace focused on in-depth storytelling and the intersections of identity and aging, including a series on the first generation aging with HIV/AIDS and ongoing coverage of family caregivers of color and LGBTQ family caregivers

Her work appeared in Twin Cities Pride Magazine, The St. Paul Pioneer Press, City Pages, The Riveter Magazine, Stereogum, 89.3 The Current, VICE's Live Nation TV and more.

Grace holds a bachelor of arts in journalism and gender, women and sexuality studies from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.
