Sarita Gupta, a 2016 Next Avenue Influencer in Aging, is co-director of Caring Across Generations and executive director of Jobs With Justice. She co-founded Caring Across Generations in 2011 with Ai-jen Poo (a 2015 Influencer in Aging), guided by a long-term vision of high-quality, accessible care for older adults. Her superior ability to lead by forging relationships and building collaboration has helped bring a number of diverse groups together toward common solutions. For example, Gupta played a key role in 2015 in spurring support for the U.S. Department of Labor’s home care rule decision, which gave home care workers the rights to overtime and a minimum wage. Gupta also speaks publicly about the reality of being a caregiver; she cares for her father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s.
