Toni Miles

Toni Miles, MD, Ph.D., is a Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America. Her work is focused on the population health effects of the deaths of friends and family members. Her work is used by several advocacy groups, including, Evermore, which advocates for policies that improve bereavement care in the United States, Culture Change Network of Georgia, which advocates for the improved culture surrounding dying and deaths in post-acute care / nursing homes. Dr. Miles completed the first-ever state-wide survey of new bereavement in Georgia. Her team has also created and disseminated Best Practices in Bereavement Care to all Georgia nursing homes, personal care homes, and assisted living sites.
