While people are living longer, they’re not necessarily living healthier. That’s what research by Canada’s Heart and Stroke Foundation showed, pointing to excess weight, lack of physical activity and smoking as key culprits.
To show the lasting impact making healthful choices can have, the foundation created this video, now making the rounds of social media:
The foundation also offers an assessment that takes about 10 minutes to complete. When you’re done, it makes suggestions about health factors you can control, such as getting more exercise or limiting high-fat foods, and prompts you to set goals. Note: you can assess your risk anonymously instead of filling out the registration form.
