Lauren Shapiro

Lauren Shapiro is  a freelance writer and a dance accompanist.  She is a 2017 recipient of the Bronx Council of the Arts BRIO award in the category of literary fiction.  Her essay "Tempo Primo" was anthologized in "I Thought My Father Was God – NPR's National Story Project." She is a dance accompanist at Alvin Ailey and elsewhere and a  writing tutor at Community College.
