Laurie Edwards is a health and science writer, lifelong patient and the author of two books on chronic disease, including the recent In the Kingdom of the Sick: A Social History of Chronic Illness in America. Her writing has been published in the New York Times and Boston Globe, among other outlets. She teaches writing for the health sciences at Northeastern University in Boston.
