Vanessa Steil

Vanessa Steil is a Board-Certified Patient Advocate, thyroid cancer survivor, and a millennial caregiver. She never imagined that her own cancer diagnosis at the age of 26 would introduce her to the world of patient advocacy and lead her to start a blog called Living in Steil (pronounced "style"), where she has created a community for other patients and survivors.

After a decade of being a patient and a caregiver, Vanessa noticed two things: people don’t know what they don’t know, and patients need to be their own advocates. This realization led her to co-found The Hospital Bar, a community for caregivers of all kinds.

She is also the founder and CEO of In Steil Creative, a boutique communications agency.
