Tad DeSanto, 76, is an artist from Louisville, Kentucky, who came to art later in life and is thriving. To create his art, DeSanto uses found materials — and isn't opposed to a little dumpster diving.

In the video by Cooper Burton, shot in part at the Pyro Gallery in Louisville in May 2023, DeSanto talks about his creative process and the gratification he has found as an artist.

"It's been quite a journey and I've enjoyed every minute of it," he says. "I'm making new friends and I've found a new community of people who like what I do."
